CARNATION AVENUE TEE

The streets next to our beach are named after flowers. And who doesn’t love a good flower? Our beloved Crown of the Sea is dotted with nature’s charming gifts. Including the carnation — a double-flowered cultivated variety of clove pink with gray-green leaves and showy pink, white, and red flowers. The origin of the name carnation is murky, with some thinking it's a misreading of the word for "clove" in Arabic qaranful or Greek karyophyllon. But the most common view suggests the Middle French carnation from the Latin carne meaning “color of one’s flesh”.
